Video shows how compression sealing benefits
Video compares the processes required to assemble a 1034bar/15000 lb/in2 tube fitting using 'cone and thread' technology, and a novel design employing familiar compression sealing techniques.
A new video from Parker Instrumentation graphically illustrates the enormous labour savings made possible by ground-breaking medium pressure tube fitting technology. Titled 'Just two minutes of your time', the video makes essential viewing for instrumentation engineers and anyone involved in the specification, purchasing, and maintenance of small-bore tubing and fittings. It compares the processes required to assemble a 1034bar/15000 lb/in2 tube fitting using traditional 'cone and thread' technology, and a novel design employing familiar compression sealing principles.
Time lapse footage shows a technican taking over 15 minutes to perform the precise mechnical preparation required for a cone and thread style of fitting - while a Parker MPI compression fitting is assembled in less than 10 seconds, simply by tightening a nut.
The integrity of the compression tube fitting assembly is then pressure tested to 2058bar/30,000 lb/in2.
