New low speed versions of pneumatic cylinders
SMC have specially modified a range of standard cylinders to provide very low speeds and smooth stroking, which are required by the semi-conductor, ceramic, glass, and pottery industries. The modified cylinders cover popular products, such as CJ2, CU, CQ2, CQS and CM2 and provide very low frequency modulation of stick-slip on start up and consistency of performance at low speeds. Mounting dimensions are the same as the standard products, however, Teflon seals and special grease enable low piston start-up speeds, of 0.5mm per second, to be achieved on cylinders of 20mm bore and over.
Under 20mm bore, piston speeds of 1mm per second are achievable.
A smooth start, with minimised shock can be achieved, even after long periods of inactivity.
Bore sizes range from 10mm to 40mm with maximum stroke length up to 300mm - depending upon model specified.
