Comprehensive source for transmission products
Manual offers comprehensive resource for Fenner power transmission products, combining a product selection catalogue with a full specification, installation and maintenance guide.
The new Fenner Drive Design and Maintenance Manual offers engineers the most comprehensive resource yet for Fenner power transmission products, combining a product selection catalogue with a full specification, installation and maintenance guide. Packed with useful information on friction belt drives, timing belt drives and pulleys, couplings, chains and geared drives, the 270 page manual provides users in a broad range of industries with the information required to help keep plants running efficiently and with the minimum of downtime. All the recent Fenner product introductions are also featured including the Fenner Ex rated range of M, C, F and K gearboxes and gearheads as well as high performance Torque Drive Plus 3 synchronous belts.
With 40 different Fenner products ranges covered in greater detail than ever before, the new Drive Design and Maintenance Manual offers users more than just a traditional catalogue.
The manual is split up into six sections: friction belt drives, couplings, synchronous belt drives, geared drives, shaft fixings, chains and sprockets.
Each of the indexed product sections include standard dimension tables, performance parameters and materials overview, but also offer cross referenced selection guides, installation diagrams as well as operating and maintenance checklists.
Up-to-date information on optimising on energy efficiency is also included throughout the manual, explaining efficiency ratings, costs and highlighting the opportunities for tax relief via the UK Government Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECA) scheme.
The manual has been designed to aid OEM designers select the optimum product for their application and assist maintenance engineers in keeping plant efficiency up and downtime to a minimum.
Pictures, diagrams and instructions are included in the manual with step-by-step guides for product selection, commissioning as well as providing typical application examples and useful notes.
For these reasons, the company expects the manual will continue to be the standard industry reference for innovative solutions to traditional problems and a guide to general problem solving in a broad range of power transmission systems.
The launch of the manual is timed to coincide with the launch of several new developments in the Fenner range, most notably the Fenner M, C, F and K range of standard gearboxes and gearmotors that are now certified for use in Zones 1 and 2 for gases and Zones 21 and 22 for dust laden atmospheres.
The Ex ratings make them ideal for use on applications such as pump sets in hazardous and risk assessed process industries.
Fenaflex shaft couplings (also featured in the manual) have been certified for use in Zones 1 and 2 ATEX applications due to their fire resistant and antistatic properties.
Additional new products include new Torque Drive Plus 3 synchronous belts for compact high torque drives and a new range of improved shaft mounted speed reducers.
Much of the information regarding optimising belt drive systems has also been included in a new interactive on-line companion to the Drive Design Manual.
The new Fenner Select online Drive Design Assistant has been launched alongside the paper manual to provide engineers with a structured and detailed approach to getting the best from a belt drive from the design stage onwards, and in a live environment.
The online software takes into account literally thousands of variables and actually applies many of the formulas listed in the manual to optimise performance and longevity.
There are also added benefits to users who register with the site enabling the storage of previous calculations for later reference (registration is free and easy to do online).
